We move to Guayaquil to buy a ticket and take the plane from there, took us to the Galapagos Islands. Although guaiac (people of Guayaquil) and Ecuadorians in general speak ill of Guayaquil, mostly because of their dangerousness, “there will kill you” they say, we feel safe. Well have to say that only visited the center, the boardwalk or promenade (it is a river) and the Rocks district, where there is a policeman every 100 yards, but where townspeople and visitors walk alone. We have no photos because with so much emphasis on the risks entailed Guayaquil, we decided to go out with the minimum, a shame because we have to say that the views of the city exceeded our expectations, long way … Read the rest of this entry »

If you are looking for a fun night out, look no further than London. As a capital city, there is something on offer for everyone.
You can head up into North London to find some great live music venues. There are several places that offer live original music every single night of the week so you will never be disappointed. There is also plenty to do in Central London too, as long as you are prepared to dip your hand a bit deeper into your pocket. It’s true that some of the night spots are a little more expensive right in the heart of London, but some of them for good reason. Tickets for the Comedy Store are normally fifteen pounds a head, but for this you get the opportunity to see four or five top class comedians – often people who you have seen performing on TV.
It can also cost a pretty penny to go and see the latest musical or play in the theatre, but again, you are paying for top class entertainment. The latest in a long line of fantastic productions will be The Wizard of Oz, which is starting its run in March 2011. Tickets for this are already selling fast so that shows you the popularity of the theatre in London. If you want to be there yourself, make sure you book your Wizard of Oz tickets now before they all sell out!
London is great for a night out. Have your wits about you and stay in a large group and you will have a great time.

Some people look to go on holiday to just relax, and some people go in search of excitement. There are plenty of places around the world that can cater for these requirements, but if you are looking for somewhere that will stimulate your senses of education as well as your appetite for relaxation, the list of places to visit becomes somewhat smaller. Personally I think that Paris is a fabulous location to visit no matter what sort of holiday you are looking for.
People in Paris frequently spend all day relaxing in laid back cafes on the Left Bank, where people watching has become a fine art, and the city has some of the finest restaurants in the world if you want to be equally as decadent by night. Conversely if you are more interested in keeping active on your holiday then there is all sorts to do in Paris. From typical lads activities such as Go Kart racing and Golf, to indoor wall climbing and Parkour, there is something for everyone, no matter what your interest.
To top it all, though, Paris is a great location for those looking to stimulate the mind. The city has some of the best regarded museums in the world, and the architecture of buildings such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Sacre Coeur are beyond equal.
Visiting Paris doesn’t have to break the bank either. There are many cheap hotels in Paris and transport links are great. Whatever you fancy trying on your next holiday, try Paris.

Everyone knows how hard it can be to get all of your Christmas shopping done. Most people leave it to the last minute and this normally leads to panic and buying the wrong, or not very good, presents. I have always found it easier to buy presents from one particular place and a lot of people nowadays are buying all of their Christmas shopping while on a weekend break in London just before Christmas. This is a great idea because it means that you can get all of your shopping done within a couple of mile radius. There’s no need to dive off to another town to get that special present you saw in a shop window a few months ago – everything you can possibly want is probably in London! There is enormous choice, with all nationwide stores represented across the city, and a wealth of independent retailers on top of that.
The other great reason for doing this is it really is a free opportunity to visit the beautiful city of London. Why not make Christmas shopping hell something to at least vaguely look forward to?! London is at its best at this festive time of year and a walk through the bustle of the streets when dusk is falling will tell you that. You just need to jump online and search out cheap hotels in London and find somewhere to stay that won’t break your budget. Once this is done you are home and dry and ready to make your kids’ Christmas the best for a very long time!
